easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, today (December 2012) celebrated the
inaugural flights of its latest route from London Southend Airport – to popular
ski and city destination Geneva.

Passengers joined easyJet crew and London Southend Airport Managing Director
Alastair Welch for photos in a festive, Winter Wonderland snow globe
which had been put up in the terminal, and toasted the occasion with a glass of
bubbly before departure.

Geneva, renowned for its artful watchmakers and breathtaking lakeside views
beside Europe’s highest peak Mont Blanc, is one of Europe’s most popular
destinations for ski and snowboarders looking to maximise their time on the
slopes, with several resorts such as La Clusaz, Chamonix and Morzine Avoriaz, no
more than 90 minutes away.

thrilled to be celebrating the inaugural flight of this new service to Geneva.
It is easyJet’s 14th destination on sale from London Southend Airport and I’m

easyJet recently announced its expansion plans for new Summer 2013 routes
which went on sale on 6 December from London Southend to Krakow in Poland and to
the German capital Berlin. With further growth planned, easyJet’s passenger
numbers are due to reach up to half a million at London Southend in time for the
airport’s first birthday.
