- EasyJet launches new route to Newquay from London Southend Airport
EasyJet, the UK’s largest airline has announced today (Thursday 6 December) that it will be further expanding its route offering from London Southend Airport with a new service to Newquay from Summer 2013. Seats are on sale from today.
The new thrice weekly service - which departs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays - is expected to attract almost 10,000 passengers each year. The inaugural flight takes off from London Southend Airport on 20 June 2013.

Destinations such as St Ives and the Eden project are now just 60 minutes flight time away, instead of a 6-hour car or 9-hour train journey.”
The announcement of the Newquay route is being warmly welcomed by Burnham-on-Crouch based travel operator Travelsmith, who have enjoyed a 50% increase in sales of holidays to Jersey as a direct result of easyJet now flying there from London Southend (started April 2012).

We have sold holidays to Cornwall for 20 years, and so the introduction of flights to Newquay from London Southend will make this area so much more accessible and definitely increase our holiday sales – especially as our accommodation is just 5 to 15 minutes from Newquay airport.
